Our family owns an extensive collection of Bibles which we use for displays to promote interest in the Bible, and Bible reading. We have been collecting new and second hand Bibles for many years, in England, Wales, Europe, North America and Australia.
These Bibles range from antique (400 years old) to the most recent modern versions. There are several versions of the New Testament in Greek, two versions of the Old Testament in Hebrew, and many versions in foreign languages. There are more than 70 versions of the New Testament in English, and a Bible in Pitman’s Shorthand. There are very large 19th century “Family Bibles”, some with brass buckles, and a tiny miniature Bible that has its own magnifying glass in its case. Some of the Bibles have ornate covers, and some are gilded on the edges. There are Bibles that are made in Israel, with olive wood covers, and a Hebrew scroll of the book of Esther, hand written on vellum parchment, in a carved olive wood cover. We also have a model of Noah’s Ark, and a model of Gutenberg’s printing press. There are several nativity sets, including a hand carved olive wood set from Bethlehem, used for displays in December. We present the displays in public libraries, and at local fairs and markets, and articles about the display have been in the local Newspapers. They are also available for private examination by appointment - email us
