Francesca von Habsburg's letter to the editor: "It was with complete amazement that I read the piece by Sholto Byrnes "The It-girl who became an empress" (Sunday Review, 18 June). Mr Byrnes travelled to Budapest to review a ground-breaking and extraordinarily complex exhibition project entitled "Kuba: Journey Against the Current". This project, recently concluded, involved seven countries across Eastern and Central Europe, presented newly commissioned works by 10 artists from the region, and presented a multi-disciplinary platform including lectures, symposia, film screenings and discussions. During his stay in Budapest, Mr Byrnes was introduced to many of the project's protagonists and interviewed artists, Hungary's Minister of Culture, and myself about the project. He also attended a charity auction which raised more than EUR100,000 for the thousands of people left homeless by the Danube floodings. Instead, you published a titillating tabloid-style expose of my private life, riddled with inaccuracies and recycled falsities which I believe says far more about your newspaper than it does about me. Francesca von Habsburg, LONDON"
